Vet referral
By law, only a veterinarian can rule pain out as a cause for problem behaviour. Therefore, all professionals should work strictly via veterinary referral. We work closely with most veterinarians in Bristol and your vet should be happy to refer to us.
For veterinary referrals please download and forward our form to your vet and request it is completed and returned with your dog’s medical history.

What we can train
Overt reactive behaviour (lunging, barking, snapping and biting) towards dogs, people, livestock, traffic etc. Our goal is to help your dog be more able to cope with social interactions and/or help your walks be easier and more enjoyable for all in the long run.
What you get
This 6 session package helps you maintain the momentum needed to see progress. All clients get put onto our reactive dog directory, where they are eventually linked up with other clients to reduce session costs or run their own sessions together. We also run 'reactive dog classes' for clients to progress towards.
Where we can train
We have a large team of social "helper dogs" and 5 different private field locations to train in. Our fields are easily accessible to North and South Bristol. We also train in your local environment, to ensure your local walks become more managable. All clients get put onto our reactive dog directory, where they are eventually linked up with other clients to reduce session costs or run their own sessions together.
Frequently asked questions
What behaviours qualify a dog for over-reactive dog training?
If your dog fixates, stalks, lunges, growls, barks or even bites- we can help you! Alternatively, if your dog is exceptionally fearful of other dogs and needs their confidence boosted our helper dog sessions are perfect.
Can over-reactive dog training sessions be customised to target specific triggers or environments?
Whilst we have a team of helper dogs at the ready, our over-reactivity and aggression training program can be adapted to help you reduce behaviours directed at all ‘triggers’, from humans, traffic or livestock.
How do you ensure safety during training sessions with over-reactive dogs?
Our private fields are set up with the dog’s enjoyment and safety in mind, with fences installed for that first sniff! Dogs are kept on lead for the majority of sessions, working towards off lead time when they are ready to progress.
We run thorough bite risk assessments and utilise muzzles when considered necessery. What is the expected outcome of the over-reactive dog training, and how is progress measured?
Clients should observe a decrease in problem behaviours and an increase in enjoyment of their walks upon completion of the program. For more extreme cases, ongoing sessions may be required beyond the program, but they should not need to be so frequent.
