The Mutty Professor was recommended to me by my neighbour. My terrier puppy was showing very early behavioural issues that I needed to tackle. Emily came to the house, took her time listening to me and assessing the situation. She set up six sessions to tackle the issues I was having. Emily‘s patience and positive training for both me and the dog were fantastic. I cannot recommend enough.

Frequently asked questions
What key skills and behaviors does your 1-2-1 puppy training focus on developing?
We can help you teach your puppy the fundamental lifeskills of walking nicely on lead, responding to their recall, dropping items they’ve picked up, being polite around food and toys, settling in public places, being comfortable being handled and developing self-control. You will also learn about dog body language and how to support your puppy into becoming a resilient and confident individual.
What should I have ready for our first in-home puppy training session?
For your first training session we recommend having a mat to teach your puppy to settle on, along with high value food rewards available and your puppy’s favourite toy. If you want your session to be focused on your puppy’s walks, we recommend that you have your puppy on a well fitted harness, a non-extendable lead for street walks and a lightweight longline for park walks. Visit Eat, Play, Love (Previously The Mutty Shop) for a harness fitting.
How are the social walks structured to benefit my puppy?
Our social walks provide you and your puppy the opportunity to learn about dog body language and how to navigate and manage social interactions to promote positive experiences that shape your puppy into becoming a polite member of canine society.
How do you tailor the training sessions to suit different puppy personalities and learning styles?
Your puppy’s individual character and breed specific traits will be considered when formulating your training program, in addition to your personal goals and individual needs as their guardian.
